Trading Agents
SETUP.
Connect an agent from the catalog: allocation, trading mode, risk controls, and optional advanced settings.
Connecting a Trading Agent starts in the Agent Catalog. Scroll or filter agents by performance metrics, review backtest and live stats, then connect the ones that fit your portfolio. Most users only need the basic settings; advanced controls are there when you want finer control.
1.Before you connect
- Review backtest and live performance in the catalog, same stats are shown for both
- Confirm your plan has an available agent slot (paper or live). See Pricing for limits
- For live trading, connect a supported exchange: Binance, OKX, Bybit (spot and futures), or Coinbase (spot only)
- Start in paper mode if you want to validate behaviour before risking capital
2.Basic settings
Allocation
Set how much capital the agent may use as its maximum budget (for example 100 USDT). The agent will not exceed this cap. Minimum allocation is set by your connected exchange, not by Yeagers. Each exchange enforces its own floor based on the asset and market.
Trading mode
Choose how the agent executes: paper (simulated), spot (live), or futures (live). Paper and futures support leverage. Spot is long-only with no leverage. Futures requires futures permissions on your API.
Self-deactivation
Enabled by default. Set how much the agent may lose from its performance high-water mark before it self-deactivates and stops placing new trades. You provide the drawdown amount (for example a dollar value or percentage threshold depending on how the UI presents it). You can disable self-deactivation in advanced settings if you prefer to manage risk manually.
Click connect and the agent runs within the limits you set.
3.Advanced settings
| Setting | Range / options | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max concurrent trades | 1 – 10 | 6 | How many positions the agent may hold open at once. Default matches how most agents trade live on representative accounts. |
| Leverage per trade | 1x – 10x | 5x | Paper and futures only. Default matches live performance stats shown in the catalog. |
| Stop loss placement | On / off | On | Agent places initial stop loss when enabled. Levels are set by the agent's behaviour program. |
| Trailing stop loss | On / off | On | Agent manages trailing stops when enabled. |
| Self-deactivation | On / off | On | Turn off if you do not want automatic drawdown shutdown. |
| Reinvestment | On / off | Off | When on, profits are added to usable capital (allocation + earned profit). No cap on reinvested amount. |
Defaults are tuned to reflect how agents trade on the majority of live accounts behind the catalog stats.
4.Changing settings later
You can update allocation, leverage, max trades, and other controls while an agent is connected, but not while it has an open trade. Wait for positions to close or manage them before applying changes.
5.Retired agents
If Yeagers retires an agent from the catalog, it disappears for new connections. If you already have it connected, you keep access until you remove it yourself. Once removed, you cannot add that agent again.
6.Catalog metrics
Use these filters and stats to compare agents before connecting:
- Sharpe ratio
- ROI %
- Max drawdown
- Win rate
- Runtime (days)
- Number of trades
- Correlation with the underlying asset
- Trade frequency
The same metrics are shown for backtest and live results in the catalog. Backtests cover roughly one year of history using Binance slippage and trading fees.
