RISK AND SECURITY.
Hard-coded guardrails, encrypted API keys, non-custodial execution, and controls you define, built so AI assists decisions but never runs unchecked.
Trading automation only works if you can trust what happens when you are not watching. Yeagers is built around a simple principle: AI can suggest and reason, but hard-coded systems enforce, verify, and shut things down. Your funds stay on your exchange. Your keys stay yours. Your risk limits are not optional suggestions.
1.Hard-coded guardrails
Personal Trader and Trading Agents both run inside a trading harness, a structured execution layer that sits between the AI brain and your exchange connection. The harness is not a prompt. It is code that runs the same way every cycle, regardless of what the model outputs.
That means we do not rely on the AI to remember to place a stop loss, to honor your max position size, or to stop trading after a bad run. Those outcomes are enforced by built-in systems that validate actions before they execute and monitor state continuously between cycles.
- Stop loss and take profit: every protection order is validated against your configured levels and position state before submission. The harness checks that downside and upside protection is in place when your rules require it.
- Order execution: trade instructions are checked against your max investment, leverage limits, allowed sides, and open position state. Invalid or out-of-bounds orders are rejected before they leave Yeagers.
- Trade exits: when a stop, take profit, or manual exit condition is met inside a candle, hard risk checks run first. The harness can force an exit even if the brain has not yet reasoned through the move.
- Position sizing: entries, adds, and reductions are capped by the allocation and sizing rules you set. The harness will not send a size the configuration does not allow.
- Self-deactivation on loss: if your trader or agent loses more than the drawdown limit you set from its performance high-water mark, it deactivates automatically. This is a hard-coded threshold, not a decision the AI gets to reconsider.
- Sleep and pause states: when a trader is asleep or you pause from the dashboard, the harness blocks new decision cycles and new order placement regardless of model output.
2.What runs on every cycle
On each closed candle, the harness wakes the brain only after hard risk checks have already evaluated the current position (for example whether a stop or take profit was touched inside the bar). Analyst modules may enrich context in parallel, but no enter, resize, or protection update is sent to the exchange until the harness approves it against your active configuration.
After orders fill, the harness reconciles what landed on the exchange with what was intended: open size, average entry, attached protection orders, and realized PnL. Discrepancies surface in your dashboard so you are not guessing whether the system did what it said it would.
3.Non-custodial by design
Yeagers never holds or custodies your funds. Capital stays in your exchange account at all times. We connect through API keys with trading and read permissions only. Withdrawal rights are not required, not requested, and should stay disabled on any key used with Yeagers.
You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting the exchange in Yeagers or deleting and rotating the key on the exchange side. We cannot move your money off-platform.
4.API key security
Your exchange API keys are encrypted at rest and in transit. They are tied to your account and used only to operate the traders and agents you configure. Internal access is restricted on a least-privilege basis. Keys are not exposed in the UI after entry and are not shared across users.
- Encrypted storage: keys are protected in our systems, not stored in plain text
- Least-privilege scopes: read and trade only, never withdrawal permission
- Your keys, your account: only you can connect, view, or disconnect your exchange credentials
- Rotation guidance: we recommend periodic key rotation and immediate revocation if you suspect compromise
For exchange-specific setup and permission scopes, see Connecting your exchange.
5.Your risk controls
Guardrails are not buried in fine print. You set them upfront: allocation, per-trade risk, stop and take profit behavior, drawdown limits, leverage caps, and trading mode. The harness enforces what you configure; it does not silently override your limits in the AI's favor.
- Per-trade and portfolio-level stops and take-profit brackets
- Max daily or weekly drawdown caps with optional auto-deactivation
- Conservative leverage limits where derivatives are supported
- Paper mode to validate behavior with simulated funds before going live
- Risk trims when volatility spikes or live performance metrics degrade
6.You stay in control
Automation should not mean helplessness. From the dashboard you can pause or stop any trader or agent immediately. Configure email notifications for fills, errors, disconnections, and risk threshold breaches so you know when something needs attention.
On severe breach conditions (such as hitting a daily drawdown limit), you can configure auto-flatten behavior that cancels open orders and closes positions where the exchange API supports it. You decide how aggressive that response should be.
7.Execution transparency
Trust requires visibility. Live analytics attribute realized PnL with breakdowns for gross vs net, fees, and execution quality. Slippage and fees are modeled in backtests and tracked in live reporting. When the brain makes a call, reasoning is stored so you can review why, not just what filled.
8.What we are honest about
No platform can remove market risk. Crypto is volatile. Automated strategies, whether AI-assisted or not, can lose money. Yeagers provides disciplined execution, hard guardrails, and clear reporting. It does not guarantee profits or eliminate drawdowns.
Use position sizing that fits your risk tolerance. Test in paper mode first. Only deploy capital you can afford to lose. Security and risk management are core to how we build, but responsible trading still starts with you.
